Overview
A short but memorable mini‑tour to the southern landscapes and Zagora. This 2‑day trip crosses the High Atlas, visits Ait Ben Haddou and the Draa Valley, and includes a camel ride and an overnight in a Berber camp under the stars.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Marrakech → Zagora (Overnight in camp)
After breakfast depart for the south crossing the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m) with spectacular panoramas. Optional stop at Telouet Kasbah and scenic landscapes across the Ounila Valley, then visit the beautiful Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO site set among almond groves and featured in many famous films. Continue to Ouarzazate, take the curves of Aït Sawn with photo stops, then cross the Draa Valley changing landscapes until reaching Zagora. Here you will take dromedaries to reach the Berber camp for a typical dinner and a night under the stars in the tented camp. Dinner included and overnight in Berber tent. Approx. daily distance 350 km – about 6 hours.
Day 2 – Zagora → Ouarzazate → High Atlas → Marrakech
After breakfast the camel riders will take you back to our vehicle to begin the return journey to Marrakech. Visit Ouarzazate and the Taourirt Kasbah and, time permitting, the film studios. Lunch in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon cross the High Atlas to return to the Red City, Marrakech. Transfer to your riad and end of tour. (Hotel or riad booked independently).
